How much does it cost to go to school every day?

On top of all the disastrous environmental effects of driving a car when you don’t really need to there is also the personal cost of how much it actually requires to pay for the petrol of the car on top of that.

For example if you were living 1 km away from school which is a distance you can easily walk or bike it would cost roughly 100 euros per year (assuming you return the 1 km back to home after being driven to school also) and this is a cost that only increases with distance. If you drive 2 km it will cost 200 euros per year, 5 km and it already costs 500 euros per year, more than enough to buy a PS5 or even some laptops.

In Greece, it is usual around 200-300 Euros for a bike(though the expensive ones might reach 500Euros)which you can probably use for years without the need of repairing anything. Even if you only use a bike for 5 years(an average service life for bikes), it still saves a lot of money and helps you build muscles.

So overall, it might actually be cheaper as well to not drive to school and instead use other modes of transport.
